About it!

I am me. We started working on my dream, Pleasure Pastures Farm, in central Wisconsin, on 4.18 acres.

I try to be healthy, natural and not as lazy as the day before. I am cheap, so all blogs are from my iPhone, I apologize from my errors in advance and thank you for stopping by.

I started this blog as a way to return to my passion, being creative. At the time my paycheck wasn’t coming from doing what I love so I needed another way to channel my thoughts.  Now, I love what I do during the day, even if the hours are long.  It doesn’t feel much like work and I am very happy with all the things that I accomplish.

My favorite quote is “If you aren’t living, you’re dying.”

I chose life and this happened.

I am recently single and happy with the decisions that I have made thus far in my life.  I have two chocolate Labs and I raise chickens, but that number is subject to change on any given day.

I am honest, interested, passionate about: food, gardening, cooking, chickens, cows, donkeys, pets in general but Labs specifically. I enjoy knowing where my food comes from and drinking local beer!  I enjoy a good dance party with my friends, a night on the couch with my love, and a rainy day to catch up on reading all your blogs.

I may not be a professional anything, this is all mine, my thoughts, my pics and would like you to ask to reuse them. Thanks!

  1. Loving your blog! I’m excited to follow your adventures, and I’m incredibly jealous of your farm and your chocolate labs! The cats and chickens… right there with you. 🙂

    • Thank you! It is an adventure. Like the movie Field of Dreams, “if you build it, they will come.” Well dreams do come true if patient and determined to make them come true. It’s not 100 acres and a brand new home but just have to start somewhere.

    • My sister lives outside Bozeman so I love reading your blog 🙂

I am gonna keep keepin on as long as I can. Helps that I do this all from the iPhone.

    • Yes, my index finger gets quite the workout. But after 18 months, I am getting pretty quick 🙂 I am just too cheap for real internet… For now!

    • Thank you!!! I could use another 40 acres but at least we are here. We had lived in a subdivision on 1/3 acre before this old house, so 4 acres seems big! Good things come to those who wait!

    • Thank you!!! I am so glad that you enjoy my mostly random train of thought! I had been nominated earlier this year and it is such an honor. And to be honored a 2nd time is so amazing. I hope to continue to write honest blogs about my little farm.

  3. Did you change the setup for your posts? I wanted to leave a comment on one, but couldn’t figure out how. First, I want to encourage you to keep writing your blog — I had wondered why you quit for a while and am sorry that it was because of what you were going through — hopefully you’ve taken the first steps to a happier future.
And in light of what you wrote about cooking and leftovers (you might want to reconsider the word — a neighbor said his wife makes planned-overs and I have come to looking at mine as prepared foods/convenience foods, just not out of boxes), consider getting the cookbook One Bowl: Simple Healthy Recipes for One. http://groundcherry.wordpress.com/cookbook/ Disclaimer: written by my daughter, but it’s still selling consistently on Amazon after more than two years, so I think I can say objectively that it’s worthwhile.

    • Awe, thank you! I am trying to decide what to blog about now… My perspective on things has changed so much in the last three months. My goals have changed, my attitude has changed. Mostly for the better. I can be my optimistic self all the time and it rocks. I feel like a life coach encouraging others to be happy and do good things.

Thank u for the hint on the book. I am good at making pasta for one and tacos. Or I just eat salad 🙂 the chickens are enjoying all other leftovers.
